Bath and Body 2

Bath and Body 2

Liquid/ Gel Soap:

2 cups bath soap flakes or grated, 1/2 gallon water, 2 Tbs. glycerin.

Mix ingredients together in a large pot or dutch oven. Set over low heat, stirring occasionally until the soap
has dissolved. Transfer to a jar and cover tightly. For a less thick gel soap, use 1 gallon of water.

Milk and Honey Bubble Bath:

1/3 cup powdered milk, 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup runny honey, 1 1/2 cups bath soap, 1 tsp. essential oil or
fragrance oil.

In a glass bowl put the powdered milk, add half of the oil and make that into a paste to get the lumps out.
Add the rest of the oil, add the honey, mix well, and then add the liquid soap, mix again. Now add your
choice of essential or fagrance oil. Using a funnel, pour into a bottle. Shake before use, if it seperates don't
worry that is normal.

Milk, Honey and Bran Soaps:

8oz. grated bath soap or bath soap flakes, 2Tbs. powdered milk, 3/4Tbs. bran flakes, 30-40 drops essential
oils (optional) 1Tbs. olive oil or almond oil, 2Tbs. honey, 5Tbs. distilled water.

In a large glass bowl mix the grated soap with the milk powder, bran, essential oil (if using) and the olive oil.
In a small glass bowl, heat together the water and the honey 40-50 seconds in the microwave. Add this to
the soap mix, mix it quickly with a spoon or fork then use your hands and knead into a pliable dough. If you
have done that and it feels sticky use some oil on your hands for the next step. Divide this mix into 3 or 4
pieces. You can now make them simply into soap balls, or flattened balls, like little hamburger patties, the
latter are easier in using than the balls. The third optionis to use a cookie cutter, round or heart shape is
nice. Evenly fill the cutter with a soap portion, using the palm of your hand to smooth it put and pressing
the soap down, then gently push it through the cookie cutter, do this on a piece of parchment paper. You
can oil the inside rim of the cutter with some oil if needed. Let your soaps dry in a warm airy space on
parchment paper for several days turning them over every day. They are usually dry and ready to use in 3-4
days but drying them a bit longer improves them. When drying they will shrink and don't make them to thin
or they will curl up, use deep/high cookie cutters.

4 cups epsom salt, 1 cup rock or sea salt, 6 drops peppermint oil, 6 drops red food coloring, peppermint
candy or candy canes for decorating.

of mixture into separate bowl and add red food coloring and stir well. Layer each color into your 2 Glass

candy. Put lid on and decorate jar with peppermint candies or candycanes glued on.

Solid Perfume:

1 Tbs. grated beeswax, 1 Tbs. almond oil, 8 drops essential oils.

The essential oil blend could be either a Fruity one or a Spicy one or an Exotic one.
To make a Fruity one, you will need 3 drops of peach oil, 3 drops of sweet orange oil and 2 drops of
chamomile oil. To make a spicy one, you will need 3 drops of clove oil, 3 drops of sandalwood oil and 2
drops of cinnamon oil. To make an exotic one, you will need 5 drops of vanilla oil and 3 drops of ylang-ylang
oil. To make the solid perfume, in a heat-resistant container or small saucepan, gently heat the beeswax
and oil until the beeswax is melted. Stir in the scented oil (whichever of the above three combo you
choose), or cologne. Pour into a clean container with a lid. Allow the mixture to cool completely. To use: Rub
your finger across the solid perfume. Apply the scent to your pulse points or wherever you wish.

Strawberries and Cream Milk Bath:

1 cup powdered milk, 3/4 cup sea salt, 1/4 tsp. strawberry essential oils.

Add milk and salt in a large bowl; mix well. Scoop out about 1/2 cup and place in a small bowl. Sprinkle oil
over the top of mix; stir well. Add oil mix back to the large bowl; mix well. Store in an airtight jar.
Attach a gift tag with the following instructions: scoop out 1/4 cup and dissolve under running bath water.

Strawberries and Cream Soap:

4 ounces creamy melt and pour soap bars, 1/4 cup distilled water, 6-10 drops strawberry fragrance oil, 1/4
cup powdered milk, 3 drops vanilla fragrance or 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract, 3-5 drops red food coloring
(optional).

Grate the soap, or chop into tiny pieces using a very sharp knife. Use a double boiler for this soap. (or you
can just use a heat-proof glass bowl over a pan of water- that's what I always do). In top of double boiler
combine the grated soap, water, dry milk powder. Keep the water in bottom of double boiler simmering
(about 2-3 cups of water). Stir the mixture occasionally and allow it to melt down into a smooth consistency.
You can even whisk it with a wire whisk to get rid of any lumps. Remove from heat.
Add strawberry fragrance oil, vanilla fragrance oil (or extract) and the food coloring if you decide to use it.
It will add a nice pinkish color to the soap, making it look the color of strawberries and cream.
Spoon the soap out into soap molds and allow to sit for about twenty four hours before unmolding.
Then let it sit another couple of hours before using. If you don't have soap molds, try using muffin tins,
aluminum tart shells, or any candy molds that you have at home for miniature soaps.
Or you can spoon the mixture into a lightly greased loaf pan and then cut into it to make bars of soap.

Vanilla and Almond Soap:

1/3 cup whole almonds, 4 ounces castile bath soap, 1/4 cup distilled water, 1 Tbs. almond extract, 1/8 tsp.
vanilla fragrance oil.

Grind the almonds to a fine powder in a food processor or coffee grinder and set aside.
Shred the soap and set aside. In a heavy saucepan bring the water to a boil; then reduce heat to a simmer.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the almond powder, almond oil, and vanilla fragrance oil, stirring
until well blended. Spoon the soap into a mold and let set for five hours or until hardened.

Vanilla Rose Bubble Bath Gel:

salt to 1/2tsp.), 2Tbs. rose water, 1Tbs. liquid glycerin, 1/4tsp. salt, 10 drops vanilla fragrance oil, 4 drops
rose fragrance oil.
